The registration of a trademark is territorial, that is to say that if you register the trademark in Argentina it will only be valid for our country, the protection is national.
When a company or venture decides to internationalise by offering its products or services in another country, it will need to protect its trademarks and patents in the chosen territory in order to be fully protected.<\/p>

When exporting, a project budget should include the costs necessary for brand protection in the country of destination. This analysis should be done before entering any market. The risk of entering and not having the trademarks registered abroad could cause great losses of money and time with the aggravating factor of being able to stop any operation, including the risk of being exposed to very costly lawsuits abroad.<\/p>

The Madrid System provides a centralised solution for the registration and management of trademarks in 113 countries, including the United States, China, Japan and major European countries.<\/p>

You only need to file a single application, in one language, and pay a one-off fee to protect your trademark in the territory of up to 97 members.<\/p>

The EU trademark grants the applicant exclusive rights in all current and future Member States of the European Union through a single registration.<\/p>\n

The duration of a Community trade mark is 10 years from the date of application, renewable for equal periods indefinitely.<\/p>\n
